Try These Scrabble House Rules
by kimberli kendrick - Monday, 16 June 2008, 09:11 AM
Anyone in the world
By Emma Snow Any family with a Scrabble tradition has doubtless developed their own set of house rules, particularly if that household includes children requiring modifications. House rules can make play more interesting and lively, place an emphasis on learning rather than competition, or simply be used to speed the game up. Below, are some common house rules I've heard about or used at home. Each rule adds its own twist to the game. I welcome you to try them! Eternal Bonus Squares: I was raised on this one. What was my disappointment when I found out at a friend's house that the rules killed the efficacy of the bonus square once it was covered! By deeming them "eternal," meaning they remain in force and count every time the word is added to, each move becomes more rewarding than the first. Scores soar into the hundreds. Egos inflate. The skillful player must try to make words that can't be added to, at least when covering a bonus square. Blank Tile Substitution: This rule keeps the blank tiles in constant circulation. For instance, if someone uses a blank on the board in place of a T, and you later wind up with a T on your rack, you can substitute the real letter and re-use the blank. This is really nice toward the end of the game when everyone is down to the nubs, letter-wise. Allowable Dictionary Use/Broadening the Word Base: To give the game more educational significance, we've sometimes allowed players to browse the dictionary when it wasn't their turns. This rule is especially helpful for children or beginners, whose vocabulary base may still be limited. If playing against more seasoned opponents, the use of a dictionary, along with offering free challenges, can even the playing field. When my sister and I were learning German we purchased a German Scrabble set and mixed it in with the English letters. Words from either language were allowed. Since letters have varying degrees of usage in different languages the point value and letter distribution will vary among foreign sets. This made our game even more interesting. Scrabble sets can be purchased on the internet in many different languages. Free Trades: Allowing free trades of the following combinations reduces the element of luck, and can make the game more fun. Two pair Three of the same letter Six vowels Six consonants Of course, the blank tile can not be used to substitute for any letter in a trade. Y can be used as a vowel or a consonant, to the player's advantage. Only one trade is allowed per turn, although your tiles may be rejected if it restores one of the above conditions to your rack. Take Two: This last suggestion isn't so much a house rule, but an alternative game which can be played using Scrabble tiles. The number of players is unlimited, and can be practiced alone, or played in a large group. The more players, the faster the game will go. To play, turn all the tiles face down in the middle of the table. Each player draws seven tiles, turning them over in front of him or her. Laying letters in words across and down, players attempt to connect all their letters. The first player to do so calls out, "Take two!" and everyone draws two more tiles. The game continues until the tiles run out. The winner is the first player to use all his of her tiles. The value of unused tiles is counted and a negative score is recorded. (The winner scores a perfect zero.) This game may be played in successive rounds if a longer version is desired. Civil Partnerships
by kimberli kendrick - Sunday, 8 June 2008, 01:59 AM
Anyone in the world
By Janine Byrne Civil Partnership Act 2004 The Civil Partnership Act 2004 came into force on the 5 December 2005 providing a long overdue legal recognition of same sex couples' rights. Same sex couples now finally have largely the same legal rights as that of heterosexual married couples. However, there does appear to be 2 areas where the legal rights of civil partners and married couples differ. Dissolution The grounds for dissolving a civil partnership are the same as those for dissolving a marriage with one exception - adultery is not a ground for dissolution in a civil partnership unlike in marriage cases. Pre-Partnership Agreements Pre-nuptial agreements have been available for many years but it would seem that only the most wealthily couples who intend to marry avail themselves of this agreement, and it there appears to be little encouragement from legal forums to use them. Conversely, with the introduction of Civil Partnerships, much emphasis has been placed on entering into a Pre-Partnership Agreement. The Pre-Partnership agreement has been extant for many years now. Previously referred to as 'Cohabitation agreements' it was considered a useful document to have where couples - both same sex and heterosexual - decided to live together. More often than not however, people never knew of the existence of such a document, as is probably the case today. With the introduction of civil partnership rights, much emphasis has been placed on having such an agreement. The document should be entered into prior to registering the partnership, and is designed to deal with how the couple wish to deal with financial issues in the event that the partnership is dissolved. The Law Society of England and Wales has argued in its literature that whilst Pre-Partnership Agreements - like pre-nuptial agreements - are not legally binding, with the courts usually deciding to split assets 50/50 on divorce pre-partnership agreements ought to be considered as the law will treat civil partnerships in the same manner as divorce. (Pre-Partnership/Cohabitation Contract and Pre-marital agreements are available to download from the Legal Documents section of the DYW site). Tax & Wills Implications Civil partners will be treated the same as married couples for tax purposes. Thus, all the same inheritance tax exemptions available to married couples will also be available to civil partners. Such exemptions will include the Nil Rate Band allowance (currently 275,000) and the 'spouse' exemption whereby all transfers between spouses are exempt from inheritance tax and will also be the case with civil partners. (For more detailed advice on inheritance tax exemptions see Inheritance Tax). The other implication of entering into a Civil Partnership from a Wills perspective, is that any existing will shall be invalidated upon registering the partnership. The extant Will shall automatically be revoked, and a new Will should be drafted. If you wish to make a Will in expectation or contemplation of entering into a civil partnership - or marriage for that matter - specific clauses will need to be drafted into the Will to ensure that it remains valid after entering the partnership/marriage. Thankfully the law relating to Civil Partnerships is on a very similar footing to that of marriage, thus matters are not too complicated. As with advice given to married couples, making a Will is important as you should not assume that your spouse/partner will inherit your share, and it may well be that specific clauses will need to be drafted into Wills for civil partners. Gay Marriage
by kimberli kendrick - Friday, 30 May 2008, 09:38 AM
Anyone in the world
By Aaron Schwartz Nowadays the problem of gay marriages becomes more and more important and actual, particularly in well-developed occidental countries such as the USA. The last presidential elections are a good evidence of this fact because, probably, the problem of gay marriages played such an important role in the campaign. The fact that the candidates raised this problem on the highest level indicates that very soon the role of the problem will increase. Anyway, it is evident that the society has to discuss widely and find some solution to this particular problem. Such a discussion has been already started and now it is in the progress, many specialists discuss it beginning from ordinary people to specialists in law, medicine, representatives of different religions, and finally politicians of the highest level. Naturally, one may ask why it is so important nowadays and what are its causes and possible consequences of its solution. In my opinion, it is the result of the gradual evaluation of western society, particularly its political and legislative traditions. It is evident that in those countries where human relations achieved such freedom as in the US, for instance, and where an individual, his or her rights are the highest value, and finally where democracy is the basis of all relations within the society then it is quite natural that people tend to develop interpersonal relations in the direction of enlarged freedom. Consequently, taking into consideration all the variety of relations that exist or could exist within the society, we can easily come to the conclusion that people need to legalize such relations in order not to be a kind of outcasts. In the case of gays it is particularly important because it does not need to be prove that there is a big part of the society that oppose to any kind of homosexual relations, naturally for this part of the population gay marriages are unthinkable and certainly unacceptable, as a result gays become outcasts. Furthermore, the gaps in legislation or more precisely the absence of legislation regulating relations between gays themselves or between gays and the rest of the society lead to their isolation and in this sense they may be labeled as a deprived part of the society. Thus, one part of the society, represented by gays, strive for equality with other members of the society, at least through legalization their relations through the institute of marriage, while the other part, that may be defined as a conventional or maybe conservative, wants to sustain the existing situation or even oppose to any attempts to legalize gays family relations. That is why in my paper I am going to discuss the problem of gay marriage, I will try to find out what vies on this problem exist, and certainly I will discuss the definition of marriage itself, how it relates to the existing doctrine of separation of the church from the state, and finally, I will dwell upon the constitutional violation of the principle separate but equal. Firstly, I would like to start with the different attitude that is now formed in relation to the problem of gay marriages. From the very beginning I want to underline that views on this problem vary greatly. Probably, the simplest variant sounds as to be or not to be, in other words to accept or not gay marriages. It is certainly a question the answer to which will give us a definite solution of the problem but, unfortunately, it could be quite radical and shocking for a conservative part of the society. Naturally, there are some other attitudes to the problem and ways of its solution which differ from a total acceptance, however mainly from the part of homosexuals themselves and a relatively small part of traditionally oriented people, to a complete ignorance of this problem, those who belong to the adepts of the latter becomes less and less numerous. Frankly speaking, it is quite difficult to find out who is right and who is not. But in my opinion, sooner or later we have to give a concrete answer to the question to be or not to be. To answer this question we have to regard at this problem from different ground as all people now actually do, but if they really want to solve the problem they probably have to find some compromise or simply try to listen and understand each other. So, I will briefly try to explain the main points of view on the problem and then I will discuss some of them a bit later. So, we have to regard at the problem of gay marriages in two dimensions: moral and juridical and it seems to me that the former is much harder to deal with then the latter. I will try to explain my idea. The problem of gay marriages is for the major part of society is first of all the problem of morality. A great part of the population think how moral it is to accept marriages between gays, how it corresponds to their personal moral, and what is not less important religious views. The latter is of a paramount importance because as I will prove it a bit later the religious view on the problem is extremely important and actually enlarge the question from a concrete one whether to admit or not gay marriage to a larger, or even philosophical one, to the question of a traditional life style of the whole society. As for the juridical side of the problem, at the first glance it seems technically simple. It is supposed that through an amendment to the Constitution and several legislative acts the problem may be solved. But even this technical implementation of changes in the existing law will find a strong opposition regardless it is pro or contra gay marriages because it will influence the electorate attitude to this or that politician and it is quite risky to take a rigid ground without a possibility to change personal views. Thus, we may say that gay marriage is the subject of public discussions and, in my opinion, it will remain as such for quite a long time because the solution of the problem is quite difficult from both aspects moral and juridical. Anyway the main and defining in this discussion will be public opinion which is influenced by many factors and some of them I have already mentioned. One of such defining factors is the understanding and interpretation of the notion of marriage itself. Traditionally, in western society the marriage is defined as being between one man and one woman (Chauncy 2004:198). Many people argue to what extent such a definition of marriage is correct and whether it is always true for all peoples living not only in the whole world but even in one country such as the USA. To make the debate clear I would like to explain why the notion of marriage as union between one man and one woman prevail in occidental culture. I think it is an undoubted fact that monogamy, which presuppose such a kind of marriage is a long time established form reigning in western societies. It is the result of the development of these societies throughout the history, they gradually evaluated from other forms of marriage to this one which is the most acceptable for the society. On the other hand, western societies are highly democratic and that is one of the main reasons why such a discussion whether to accept gay marriage or not, exist at all. Otherwise, in less developed or less democratic societies such a question might have ever been raised because the reigning traditional ideology would succumb all others, all views different from the common one. So, it is the society, its development, that shapes the public perception of the notion of marriage and engenders the problem of gay marriages. However, such an attitude to the notion cannot be the only one accepted by the whole society without any remarks. If we take as an example American society we will see that there are a lot of opponents to the definition of marriage as a marriage between one man and one woman. As I have already mention such a situation is caused by democratic nature of American society itself. The followers of the idea of legalization of gay marriages estimate that the definition mentioned above is if not mistakable then quite arguable. They draw a lot of examples from the past of different human societies as well as they indicate at other modern societies and cultural or religious groups that exist in other countries or coexist in one and the same country, such as the USA. For instance they speak about the marriage in Oriental, mainly Muslim countries where the notion of marriage differs significantly from its western counterpart. In such countries polygamy, when one man marry several woman, is a norm of life and there is nothing shocking in such a situation. Furthermore, even the USA, which have been repeatedly named as a basic representatives of traditional western culture, have the Mormon culture in which like in Muslim cultures polygamy was a viable option for quite some time (Chauncy 2004:221). To support the equality between men and women in such a context, I can also name such a notion as polyandry. This phenomenon is spread in some central Asian cultures and it means an analogue of polygamy but in relation to women, in other words one woman may have several husbands. Thus, we can see that the notion of marriage may vary greatly and even people of one and the same country, having different cultures, may have different understanding of this notion. Briefly speaking it may vary from a traditional for western countries marriage between one man and one woman to a polygamy, or polyandry it is simply the question of existing culture, moral norms and often religion. By the way, exactly the religion is the next thing I would like to discuss. More precisely I would like to discuss the separation of church and state and its relation to gay marriage. The separation of church and state is one of the tenets of western societies and it is the key element of western democracies which is claimed to provide equal opportunities for all people regardless their religious, political and personal views. This phenomenon has quite a long history and is well respected in western societies, including American because the separation of church and state was delineated and embraced so that a person could not be penalized for their religious views or lack thereof (Weston 1991:167). For followers of gay marriages it is a strong argument in favor of the latter because they consider it as an unconstitutional act, contradicting to the principle of separation of church and state, because it does not provide really equal opportunities for a part of the population to act according their will in a legal way. For instance, in the USA gay and lesbians have been married in various types of ceremonies around the nation and the globe (Weston 1991:243) but what they lack of is the legal side of the problem. In my opinion, the real cause of such a situation is the domination of conservative religious views in American society, according to which gay marriage is absolutely immoral act, contradicting to traditional religious beliefs because despite a huge variety of churches existing in the US there is still not so many religions that admit gay marriage while the vast majority of churches oppose to such a kind of marriage. Consequently, the statesmen cannot unarguably support gay marriages. On the other hand, it really seems a bit contradictive to the principle of separation of church from state because personally, I have an impression that religious beliefs if not politicians themselves then their electorate play a very important role in their relation to the problem of gay marriages and at this point I would rather join those who believe that in this aspect the followers of gay marriage are discriminated and the problem is not in the possible misinterpretations or unfair preferences in understanding the Bible, for instance, which followers of gay marriage blame their opponents in. In my opinion, the main reason why it seems to be wrong is that in a political or legislative discussion religion should not play a defining role as it sometimes happens. Thus, speaking about the principle of separation of church and state, applying it to the problem of gay marriage we should follow this principle strictly and remain objective enough and, whether one is an opponent or follower gay marriage, he or she must find other arguments in favor of pro or contra position not religious one. One of such argument, in favor or against gay marriage may be a so-called separate but equal principle. I believe that it may be an alternative solution of the problem of gay marriage, I mean alternative of to be or not to be solution, it may be a kind of consensus between two opposing sides of the debate. According to this principle, it is suggested to sexual minorities to have civil unions instead of a traditional marriage. And again as separate of church and state, as practically everything concerning the problem of gay marriage, it is quite contradictive and questionable. On the one hand, it suggests a real prospective for gays and lesbians to legally create their own families and in such a way to legalize their relations. For their opponents it is certainly a great deal but not for the followers of gay marriages who, in their turn do not treat civil unions as equal to a traditional marriage. Despite the fact that legally they are one and the same (Dobson 2004:287) it is still the point for a further discussion. It is quite obvious that civil unions are an attempt to separate a gay marriage from a traditional one by providing it for equivalent, i.e. a civil union. However, even legally it is not so simple because according to Supreme Courts ruling separate but equal conception violates the Constitution and legislation in the USA. And again, in my opinion, here we mainly deal with not legal but moral problem. Even if civil unions and marriages were legally equal there would still remain a certain difference even though purely nominative but anyway it could be perceived as discriminating by followers of gay marriage because it would make gay marriage different from a traditional marriage even if this difference is only formal and from juridical point of view insignificant. Consequently, we may say that civil unions being an alternative to gay marriages are not their substitutes, at least for those who are for gay marriages, on the other hand, they are probably the first step to the solution of the problem at large. Thus, taking into account all above mentioned I come to the conclusion that the problem of gay marriage exists and whether we want it or not it has to be solved somehow. In my paper I have discussed the key moments of the debate I have tried to understand roots of the problem and find possible ways of solution but what I can say at the end is that despite all existing moral, religious beliefs, political system, the society has to decide whether gay marriage worth existing or not, whether a part of society supporting such a kind of marriage has reason or not. So, the debate is open and sooner or later we will see what part wins or that seems more probable whether a real alternative could be find or not. Liquid Diets & Meal Replacement Plans
by kimberli kendrick - Wednesday, 28 May 2008, 12:31 AM
Anyone in the world
By Chris Chenoweth A typical meal replacement plan or liquid diet involves substituting a number of meals and snacks with a nutritionally balanced shake made from sugar, skimmed milk powder, fiber, vitamins, minerals and sweetener. Some plans also offer candy-like bars. WHAT YOU EAT AND DRINK Typically, you replace two meals and one snack per day with one shake. Each shake contains about 200 calories. Your third meal is full of nutrients and contains about 600 calories. Your total daily intake would add up to about 1200 calories. ADVANTAGES The diet is nutritionally balanced and very convenient. All you have to do is open a can, grab a glass, and add milk. The shakes are very sweet and great for anyone with a sweet tooth. The liquid diet benefits certain types of procedures, both pre- and post-op. In pre-operative cases, a clear liquid diet flushes the bowels while decreasing strain on the digestive system. Before beginning this type of liquid diet, a physician will provide a detailed fact sheet on how to proceed and for how long. Liquid diets are also used following bariatric surgeries. Those who undergo bariatric surgery may be required to follow a fluid-only diet for up to ten days following the procedure. Occasionally, extreme cases of obesity are treated with liquid diets. It is successful initially, but must be monitored by a physician for any negative side effects. It is not recommended for long-term weight loss. DRAWBACKS Due to the low calorie content, too little fiber, and lack of important nutrition found in fruit, vegetables, and whole grains, these liquid diets are unsafe unless medically prescribed and supervised. They should also only be used for short periods of time. Studies have shown that weight loss achieved while following a low calorie liquid diet plan is rarely sustained. Dieters can expect to regain as much as 75% of weight lost, within 3 years. The biggest drawback concerns the issue of eating habits. Meal-replacement diets can help you to lose weight in the short term but they cannot help you to acquire the sort of sensible eating habits that are essential for long-term weight loss. In addition, liquid diets that are not medically supervised may not supply the body with enough nutrients to function properly and are associated with problems including sensitivity to cold, brittle nails, diarrhea or constipation, and heart problems. Weight loss by means of liquid diets can also cause gallbladder problems. VERDICT This is a reasonably good (and healthy) SHORT-TERM option for disciplined dieters who are under medical supervision. However, make sure your daily solid meal is healthy and your snacks include plenty of fruit and vegetables. Any fad diet that uses short-term weight loss methods is not recommended for permanent weight control. Remember, permanent fat loss is achieved by following a sensible, nutritious eating plan that includes regular aerobic exercise and behavior modifications. CHOOSE A HEALTHY WAY TO EAT Be very careful of any diet that... *Provides fewer than 1000 calories per day. *Boasts unusually fast weight loss. *Uses the word "miracle" to describe itself. *Has an unbalanced eating plan. *Has unrestricted amounts of high fat food like red meat, dairy products or oils. *Requires you to take expensive supplements. *Fails to recommend long term changes in your eating habits. Americans spend billions of dollars a year on diet products. A large percentage of those who purchase them, purchase fraudulent or completely useless products. Do not be one of them. Finishing your Butcher Block Counter Top
by kimberli kendrick - Saturday, 24 May 2008, 03:34 AM
Anyone in the world
By Arturo Ronzon Care needs to be taken when choosing and finishing butcher block cutting surfaces and counter tops. These surfaces are never truly finished and require ongoing treatments throughout the life of the counter. The Correct choice and treatment of butcher block counters is needed to impede mold growth and guard against bacteria. This includes selecting a butcher block made from a closed grain hardwood such as Rockhard Maple. Oak, ash, hickory, or any other open or soft closed grain wood is not suitable for use as a butcher block. These woods are liable to deteriorate with use leaving the pores of the wood open for contamination. In addition, softer woods may splinter causing wood particles to mix in with foods. The best treatments for butcher block counters are inert oils which can continually be reapplied to the surface of the wood. These oils fill in the natural pores in the wood and repel other oils, liquids and food which may contaminate the surface. Only inert oils are safe for use in treating butcher block counters. Vegetable or other cooking oils will eventually turn rancid and give your counters a spoiled food odor. The best oils to use for both the initial treatment and ongoing counter top maintenance are Walnut Oil, Pure Almond Oil and Mineral Oil. These oils will not become rancid and will properly protect your counter tops. Nature Oil, a proprietary blend of oils designed for safe butcher block care is also available in pint sized bottles. Nature Oil can be used daily. Lastly, Raw Tung Oil (only the pure, raw variety) can be safely used to treat butcher block counter tops. Several coats of oil are needed and may be applied every 24 to 48 hours. Raw Tung Oil dries via oxidation and need only be reapplied monthly. Initial treatments of oil should be applied several times, preferably in a warm room using warm oil. It is best to coat untreated or newly sanded wood with oil several times, wiping in between applications. All oils (with the exception of Raw Tung Oil) should be applied every time the surface is washed or at the least, weekly. An even coat of oil may be left overnight or until the next time the counter is used for even better absorption. Simply wipe up any remaining oil before use. Oil treatment need only be used on butcher block counter tops that will be used as a cutting surface. There are several varnish and sealant options for counters that are simply being used as functional counter top space. Conversion varnish is a wonderful choice for professional spray applications. For brush application on site, protective films such as Behlen Salad Bowl Finish, a Urethane finish approved by the FDA, are ideal. Salad Bowl finish is a great choice for counters with stove tops or sinks. It is highly durable, easy to clean, protects wood from moisture and has a high gloss finish that looks newer longer. Recent Trends in Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery in Denmark
by kimberli kendrick - Wednesday, 21 May 2008, 09:04 AM

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Poonam_Mathur] Poonam Mathur Plastic and cosmetic surgery in Denmark, or plastik og kosmetisk kirurgi, as it is termed in local parlance, is gaining increasing popularity in the country. It is, but one, of the myriad manifestations of the health and fitness drive. The economic boom witnessed by the country, in the past few years, has also made the affordability factor less of a consideration. Indulgence in cosmetic beautification has gripped the young and elderly, both men and women, and touched towns, cities and the countryside, all alike. Already about 320,000 Danes have been under the knife, in other words, 8 % of the total adult population of Denmark and the numbers are projected to rise even further. Latest research indicates a 20 % to 30 % projected increase in the coming years of the number of Danes looking for cosmetic surgery. Interestingly, every fifth female over the age of 17 is actively considering getting cosmetic surgery done, whereas every tenth female has already had cosmetic surgery done. Eighty percent of all Danes find the notion of cosmetic surgery fully acceptable. At present, about 30,000 cosmetic surgeries, per annum, are performed nationwide. What is even more fascinating is that men account for a significant proportion of all cosmetic surgeries performed in Denmark. Every third Dane who has undergone or is contemplating cosmetic surgery is a male. Five percent of the adult Danish male population, about 100,000 has been under the knife, and 15% to 25% of the patients at plastic and cosmetic surgery clinics are indeed male, many of whom are the metrosexual varieties. The types of plastic and cosmetic surgeries in Denmark that generate the greatest patient interest are related to the breast treatments, eyelids, nose, liposuction, laser hair removal, abdomen and stomach, and last but not least, face-lifts. The surge in interest in cosmetic surgeries is putting pressure on the Danish public healthcare system in a number of ways: (i) the brightest of plastic and cosmetic surgeons are defecting into private practice, thus reducing the talent pool within the public domain; and (ii) the costs of certain plastic and cosmetic surgeries performed in private hospitals are still being paid for by the public system such as eyelid surgery, breast reduction and obesity surgery, where patients can easily claim that surgery is necessary to the healthy functioning of the body, and not due to any cosmetic concerns. According to Danish law, all cosmetic surgeries are to be financed privately by individuals, however, this grey zone of interpreting what is cosmetic versus what is essential to the healthy functioning of the body, has begun to tax the Danish public budget. Given the recent increase in the interest in cosmetic surgery, this problem is bound to worsen. In all likelihood, the Danish public healthcare system will have to put its foot down and refuse paying for such grey zone surgeries. If this happens, clearly, the demand for cosmetic surgeries at private hospitals will further rise, and hence, as will the waiting periods. To illustrate, one of the most famous private hospitals in Copenhagen, Hamlet Privathospital, has increased its revenues from cosmetic surgery three-fold in the past six years. However, the waiting period, in certain cases at private hospitals, can be as long as two-and-a-half months, from initial consultation to actual treatment. Traditionally, cosmetic surgery has never been fully covered, if at all, by medical insurance, whether in Denmark or in most parts of the world. And, therefore, as is common knowledge, it can be an expensive undertaking. The cost of plastic and cosmetic surgery in Denmark is expensive. To quote a few examples of private hospital prices: (i) Eyelid Surgery: ranges from DKK 7,000 to DKK 13,000 (USD 1,100 to USD 2,100) (ii) Breast reconstruction: the surgery can cost from anywhere upwards of DKK 65,000 (USD 10,800); (iii) Liposuction of the stomach: DKK 21,500 (USD 3,500); (iv) Laser Hair Removal: DKK 12,000 (USD 2000) (v) Hair Transplant: ranges from DKK 40,000 to DKK 350,000 (USD 6,600 to USD 58,000) High cost of plastic and cosmetic surgery and significant waiting periods, has led to a notable growth in medical travel to other countries where the cost of the same treatment is lower and, therefore, more affordable for Danes. Popular treatment destinations include Turkey, Poland and Hungary. An increasing number of Danes have also now begun traveling to Asia, where they can draw the benefits of both excellent surgical treatment at the most competitive rates, combined with the option of making the trip a leisure and holiday journey. Now, given the waiting lists for cosmetic surgery even at private hospitals in Denmark, it is only natural for Danes to continue traveling abroad for treatment. India may well be the next destination for medical tourists from Denmark. Cost of medical treatment in India for foreigners is one of the cheapest in the world, if not the most competitive. In Asia, it surpasses the cost advantages of even Thailand and Singapore. Quality of treatment is world-class, second to none, and at par, if not superior, in cases, to treatment available in the United States and the United Kingdom. In 2002, the number of foreign patients who traveled to India for treatment was 150,000. In 2005, the same figure was close to 500,000. Travel to India for medical treatment is gaining momentum India is a fast-growing centre for tourism offering the wonders of resplendent cultural richness with the magic of Indias natural beauty. Patients are now also able to combine travel to India for medical treatment with a uniquely fulfilling holiday. For more information on medical tourism to India, please consult the information below. Pubic Hair Shaving

By Paul Ghossain Pubic hair shaving is done for many reasons. If you are a woman, it is done because you might want to feel sexier for yourself and for your partner. Pubic hair shaving might also be done for practical reasons. This holds true especially if you don't want any embarrassing moments when you have your bikini on! Lets not count men out. These days more and more men have begun shaving their pubic hairs too. Maybe they want to make their penis look larger and more attractive. Some do it because they feel that it is only fair to return a clean cut penis for their partners to enjoy, just like their partners have been doing it all this time for them. What ever the reasons may be, whether you are a woman or a man, one thing is clear, pubic hair shaving has certainly become the norm! Like anything in life, shaving pubic hairs has it's pros and cons too. Don't let the cons scare you. When precautions are taken, alot of the negative effects of shaving your pubic hairs can be avoided. Pros of shaving your haven: Everything down there feels so much more sensitive, in a nice way. It is much easier to keep your playground clean and fresh! Sweaty and musky ordors are kept to a minimal. Can be quite entising for your partner. Cons of shaving your haven: If you cut yourself it could get pretty bloody. Yuk, not nice. Painful too! When it grows back, it feels thicker. Don't worry, your pubic hairs will go back to normal again oncethey reach theiroriginal size. Shaving your pubic hairs the wrong way can lead to ingrown hairs. Believe me, you don't want this to happen. Can be quite painful. Men, if you have shaved around your penis and on your penis, the stubble can hurt your partner when you are having intercourse. Rub your hands on your face stubble and see what I mean. I think that what makes a difference between a good shave and a bad shave lies in technique and the tools of the trade. Take the time to first do a little reading on the subject before you get trigger happy with your shaver. Looking To Join A Dating Site?

Anyone in the world
By William Hanes Searching the web for a dating or personals site can leave one very confused. There are millions of dating sites listed on the Internet. My search of the word "dating" on Google resulted in 56,200,000 results! Talk about a tough decision. Let me give you some pointers and advice. Currently, I am a Webmaster of a few dating sites as well as dating referral sites. I have seen all the styles of personal sites. They all follow pretty much the same format with a few variations. Sure, there are some great free dating sites, as well as some terrible ones. The same holds true for pay dating sites. Now, as a Webmaster, let me assure you of one thing, all us webmasters are promoting dating sites for one thing...money. Now, dont get me wrong, but I could put up a decent free dating site, and allow members to join my dating site for free. I would just post some ads or banners, and offer to sell something, which might be of interest. Then, hopefully, I would generate enough revenue off these sales to support the site. Kind of a traffic generator. My advice is this... If your looking to join a dating or personals site, before you even start looking, ask yourself, what am I looking for. Narrow the search down somewhat. Are you looking for a lesbian site, how about a military dating site? Maybe a "dog-lovers" dating site. Trust me, there all out there. Now, let the search begin. Try Google, Yahoo or whatever you prefer. My suggestion is that you look for personal sites that offer what I call a semi-free membership. A semi-free membership is where you are allowed to post your profile. (This is where you tell about yourself and post some pics) On this type of dating site, you are not allowed to contact other members, It's kind of like fishing, you put out the bait and see if anything bites. This type of dating site could work well if youre not in a rush. Now, the wait is on... Remember though; beware of some of the replies you receive. Most will be good matches of what you are looking for though. Be cautious of the soon to be admirer who needs you to send cash so that he may come see you though, this happens occasionally, but not often. I'll say it once, don't send anyone money! Don't get in a panic and think everyones a scammer, most are not. Now, if your not ready to wait for replies, you will need to pay up to send messages to other users on this type of site. Remember this too though, if you want a shy gal (personally I like them), there not as quick to send me a message if they see my ad. Remember, they might be shy or feel that they are not what your looking for. So, joining might be a good idea. I would like to offer some quick pointers on what to do before even signing up for a free dating membership though. Do a Whois search on the site you are considering joining. To do a whois just do a Yahoo search on "whois" and follow the directions. If you typed in my domain name www.thatdatingsite.com you can find out for sure, who I am. Sure, I could lie when I set up the domain, but my phone numbers there too, just call me. See how most webmasters have nothing to hide while some do. Some whois search results will contain "hidden" information. Do you really want to join this type of dating site? Another pointer, if the site loads slowly, has popups or spam, beware. Remember the rule above? All us webmasters are in it for the money. If you join this type of dating site, get your spam blockers and virus protectors tuned up. See, if I can give you popups, there are people who will pay me just to show you popups. They'll pay even more for your email address... Now, see why this is important. Just be cautious and have fun, theres a lot of high quality dating sites out there. Most are reputable, but unfortunately, there are a few bad ones. Good luck in your search for your soul mate or whatever you are looking for. I wish you luck! Bud Hanes is the webmaster at http://www.thatdatingsite.com. He encourages all to enjoy internet dating while practicing safe methods.
