By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Athlyn_Green] Athlyn Green A home cholesterol test can provide answers, if you are concerned about coronary risk. Approved for use in 1993, these tests can accurately determine your cholesterol levelsin the privacy of your own home! Home cholesterol testing offers certain advantages. Tests are readily available. You do not need to get a prescription. When used correctly, they are about 95% accurate. You may need to fast when taking a home cholesterol test. Your results may show higher if you neglect to do this. Also, many of these tests only give a total cholesterol reading, which does not include information about your high-density lipoprotein (HDL) or low-density lipoprotein (LDL). Other newer home cholesterol testing is digital. These tests give a comprehensive picture: HDL, LDL, triglyceride, and glucose readings. Digital tests appear to be highly accurate. While a home cholesterol test can give you an idea of your cholesterol levels, in most cases it is better to seek out medical advice. Your doctor can administer pertinent tests and decide what steps may be needed. In some cases, especially if your levels are high, repeated testing will need to be carried out. Home cholesterol testing may involve use of a lancet (to draw blood), a test pad (for your sample), and a color chart. You may be instructed to make a visual comparison between the test pad and the color chart. Another test may require using a lancet to draw blood, which is then placed in a well. A tester may be used where colors change to give your reading. In this home cholesterol test, a measurement scale is used that shows color changes and a color peak indicates the concentration of cholesterol in the sample. Most people that consider [http://www.healthy-cholesterol-guide.com/lower_cholesterol_naturally.html] home cholesterol testing are concerned about their blood cholesterol levels. Trusting A Relocation Service
by kimberli kendrick - Sunday, 16 March 2008, 09:18 PM
Anyone in the world
By Leon Chaddock If you are in need of a relocation service, you will have many things to worry about. But, if you can find the right service to work out of, you are likely worrying for nothing. There are many companies out there that want to serve your needs. They want to help you relocate and they will pull out all the stops to say so. But, what you need is quality, communication, and affordability. It is also important to be able to trust in your relocation service. First, you need to be able to have a quality relocation service. To find the quality service that you need, simply look at the companies closely. Compare company history, consumer reviews that youll find on the web as well as taking the time to look them up on the Better Business Bureaus website. Are their customers satisfied? Next, you need to be able to communicate with them. Do they provide you with the understanding attitude that you need? Do they allow you to tell them what it is that you are after? If they plan to provide service to you, they need to be able to communicate with you about your needs, availabilities and worries that you may have. A good relocation service will provide these aspects. The company that provides you with relocation service also needs to provide you with affordability. After you take care of the other aspects, make sure that the service can provide for you a good deal or discount. In fact, their normal prices need to be good as well. You are moving and more than likely, you dont have the time or money to be ripped off! Lastly, the relocation service needs to provide you with a good reason to trust them. It could be that all of the things we mentioned are great choices. That may be enough to make them be the right company to trust. You know when you trust someone so look for this quality in the relocation service you choose. 10 FREE-Creative-Low-Cost Marketing Tips
by kimberli kendrick - Friday, 14 March 2008, 03:14 PM
Anyone in the world
By Katrina Sawa Here are the Top 10 Tips I give small business owners and entrepreneurs on a daily basis when I see them out at networking functions. These 10 things will be the least expensive and probably the most effective forms of marketing that you could do to promote your small business. 1. Display your cards or brochures at coffee shops, book stores, businesses of people you know, membership stores like Costco and Sam's Club, anywhere that will allow it; all of these are free. Seek out ones locally that will allow you to do this and replenish them frequently. You can also approach other business professionals that compliment what you do and have a similar target market as you to swap marketing materials, meaning you display or carry theirs and they yours. 2. Hold an Open House, Ribbon Cutting or some kind of an event to attract the public or your specific target market to your business. You can partner with another business to split the cost, you can bring in a charity to raise money for or have a client appreciation night of some sort. Whatever you do, make sure you plan it well in advance and publicize the event to the media and your database. I can help you plan and promote your events in the media and to your database! 3. Networking is the cheapest form of advertising you can do - find organizations, associations, chambers, groups and monthly meetings that have attendees and members that fit your unique target market client or referral source and visit them first, then join if you see the value. The key to networking is frequency. You need to go to the organization's events that you join each month for greater visibility, to be recognized and ultimately to be the go-to person for your particular industry. Visit www.ksawamarketing.com each month for a FREE monthly Networking Calendar and numerous organization links! 4. Put your sales message and/or logo on everything, your car, shirts, nametag, building, invoices, envelopes, sales flyers, receipts, tags, etc. Simple name/logo branding can be a huge asset for a small business (everyone will say I've seen your stuff somewhere). Ask me for a referral for companies who do these things! 5. Invite trade for services for things you may need (bookkeeping help, CPA, financial or attorney advice, marketing, advertising, promotions, signs, promo items, printing, products, services, etc.). This will save you money and give you other avenues to pursue for referrals as well. 6. Go in with other small businesses that compliment your business on advertising opportunities, chamber inserts or in their newsletter, inserts in the local papers, direct mail pieces, target mailing list purchases, door to door flyers, etc. (i.e.; housekeeping business and carpet cleaning business). This will keep your costs lower for these items and give you greater credibility by partnering with other professionals. I can help you design and coordinate these marketing pieces so they STAND OUT! 7. Make sure you are listed on all local area or national website directories necessary that will target your message for you. Do the free ones for sure, but evaluate them if they charge a fee. When you consult with me - I give you a list of these for FREE! 8. Include links to other people's websites on yours and ask to do the same for added exposure. Have an I recommend these businesses page. Reciprocal links helps both websites get higher up on the search engines. I offer low cost advertising on my email newsletters which reach 1,500 business professionals and my clients are listed for no extra charge on my client list on my website! 9. Follow up, Follow up, Follow up with everyone you meet and ask them what their business is all about and how could you work together to promote each other? You need to develop a system for this so it gets done. Whether it's add them to your mailing list and mail to them once a month, add them to your email list if they opt-in and email them weekly or calling them, stopping by or faxing them on a monthly basis to keep in touch. Having a system or guideline written down that you can follow easily each month is the key. I can help you put together an effective and efficient, low cost follow up marketing system that's easy to follow! 10. Never base your advertising decisions on what YOU do, take yourself out of the picture and think like your customer and what they would generally do. Always ask pertinent questions of any media before buying it such as What is their circulation or reach and How do they market themselves or how is their medium distributed. Research all your options first, figuring out which ones reach your target market the best, then evaluate their cost per thousand. I can put together an Advertising Plan for you so you know where to and NOT to spend your money! Well, hopefully you are doing everything on that list already in your business, but if not I'm sure I've only reminded you of what you already know to do. NOW DO IT! Atkins Diet Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL) Carbohydrate Ladder
by kimberli kendrick - Thursday, 13 March 2008, 12:33 AM
Anyone in the world
By Elleth Faewen The Atkins low-carb diet consists of four phases: Induction, Ongoing Weight Loss, Pre-Maintenance, and Maintenance. This article focuses on phase II of the Atkins diet, ongoing weight loss, or OWL. The OWL phase of the Atkins diet begins immediately after the two-week induction phase. This is the fun part of the diet where you get to experiment with new foods and determine how they affect you. As you move from one rung to the next, you add carbohydrate foods back into your diet in the order prescribed by the OWL carbohydrate ladder. Adhering to this order tends to minimize blood-sugar surges that could reactivate food cravings. While fat and protein will continue to be the mainstays of your diet, you will eat less of them as you add carbohydrates. As you choose foods from each rung on the ladder, you should choose most often from foods with a low Atkins Glycemic Ranking, or AGR. The concept of AGR was followed in the 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, but it was formally introduced in Atkins for Life. Foods with a low AGR will have the least impact on your blood sugar for each rung of the OWL ladder. The foods listed in each rung of the ladder below are examples of low AGR foods for their rung. As you hit each Atkins OWL rung, you can add up to 5 net carbohydrates from that rung. For each food group you add, you should eat from it no more than three times the first week and monitor your body for changes, using foods from induction and lower rungs to increase your carbohydrates on the off days. You need to give it the entire week as a couple of days may not be enough to know how a food is affecting you. You can eat daily from same food group the second week as you continue to monitor your progress. I personally recommend spending a minimum of two weeks on each rung of the ladder, and preferably a month. This allows you time to adjust your diet and learn how different foods affect you. For example, one brand of cheese may cause you problems while another brand is just fine. You should only skip a rung if you do not plan on eating from it. For example, someone may have dairy allergies, so they may skip the Atkins OWL dairy rung #2. If you do skip a rung, I have found that it is best if you spend the time you normally would have spent for that rung before moving to the next one. This helps to give your body enough time to adjust before giving it the higher AGR foods. For example, if you normally spend three weeks on each rung, and you want to skip alcohol rung#5, then you should spend six weeks at berries rung #4 before proceeding to legumes rung #6. In the same example, if you normally spend two weeks on each rung, then you would spend four weeks at the berries rung #4 before proceeding to the legumes rung #6. Your ability to add all the food groups back depends upon your Atkins Carbohydrate Equilibrium, or ACE. The term ACE was introduced in Atkins for Life, and it replaces the old term CCLL, which meant Critical Carbohydrate Level for Losing. For example, someone that does not exercise and has a low ACE would probably not be able to add legumes back during OWL, while someone who is young, works out regularly, and has a high ACE might have no problems climbing to the top. Once you begin consuming alcohol on rung #5, be sure to count the carbohydrates and monitor your weight loss. Spirits have no carbohydrates, while white wine and red wine have 0.9 and 2.0 carbohydrates respectively. Alcohol will suspend weight loss as you do not burn fat while your body has alcohol to burn. If you find that you are stalled, discontinue your alcohol consumption. When you get to the last three rungs of the ladder, you are eating foods with the highest AGR. Make sure you do not eat those foods alone. Eat them with foods high in fat and fiber to help minimize their impact on your blood sugar. With fruits and vegetables, the more color they have, the more nutrition they have. If you have a choice between red grapes and white grapes, choose red. Also, be careful of dried fruit as it concentrates the natural sugar and could potentially make a small piece have as many carbohydrates as the entire fruit. When looking at low carbohydrate pre-packaged foods, check the ingredients against the ladder below. The highest rung for the ingredients is the rung you must be on to eat it. The OWL Carbohydrate Ladder The foods listed in each rung of the ladder below are examples of low AGR foods for their rung, unless noted to eat in moderation. This is intended to be an example of some of the foods you can eat, not an exhaustive list of all the foods you can eat. Vegetables More salad and other vegetables on the acceptable foods list Dairy Fresh cheeses: Cottage cheese Farmer's cheese Ricotta cheese Pot cheese Keep portions small for Hard aged cheese Cream, heavy and light Half and half Sour cream Low-carb ice cream, yogurt, and milk Seeds and Nuts Macadamias Almonds Peanuts/Natural Peanut Butter Coconut Sunflower seeds Sesame seeds Walnuts Pistachios Berries Eat frequently from: Strawberries Blueberries Blackberries Raspberries Eat moderately from higher AGR melons: Watermelon Honeydew Cantaloupe Wine and other spirits low in carbs Spirits White Wine Red Wine Low-carbohydrate Beer Legumes Lentils Kidney Beans Pinto Beans Black Beans Hummus Chickpeas Tofu Soybeans Soy milk, unsweetened Fruits other than Berries and Melons Plums Kiwis Peaches Apples Grapefruit Tangerines Starchy Vegetables Keep all portions small Carrots Green Peas Acorn squash Butternut squash Eat rarely: Corn Potatoes Sweet potatoes Whole Grains Keep all portions small and focus on whole, unprocessed grains: Old fashioned Oatmeal (Steel cut oats Oat Bran Wheat Bran Low-carb (soy) bread and muffins All-bran Barley, cooked Elleth Faewen began the Atkins diet in October of 2003 and provides support for those interested in low-carb dieting at http://www.lowcarbbulletinboard.com She also provides support for women at http://www.babytalkzone.com, an Internet company dedicated to helping women who are trying to conceive, pregnant, or adopting. Increase Curb Appeal With Flowering Shrubs and Bushes
by kimberli kendrick - Tuesday, 11 March 2008, 02:56 PM
Anyone in the world
By Eileen Melgar If you want to create a home with more curb appeal or, simply add color to the side or back property, you have many excellent options with flowering bushes. Depending on the type of bush you choose, you will end up with gorgeous blooms at varying times of year, giving your home a new, fresh, and exciting look. Adding a bush with vibrant red, yellow, or purple blooms will completely transform the appearance of your home, making it more inviting. As you will discover from the information below, flowering blushes come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and blooms, all beautiful and many exotically fragrant. Butterfly Bush The Butterfly Bush gets its name because it attracts butterflies but it is also known for attracting other creatures to include fritillaries, tortoiseshells, honey bees, and swallowtail, all enjoying the sweet nectar of the blossoms. Officially known as Buddleia, there are more than 100 species and cultivars. These bushes are medium to large in size, making them an exceptional choice or forming a hedge, filling in space, or anchoring a perennial bed. The only downside to the Butterfly Bush is that it is a vigorous and messy grower. In other words, the branches will begin to grow how and where they like so on-going trimming is required. The branches support beautiful lilac-like clusters of flowers, as well as side branches and blossoms. The fragrance of the blooms is sweet and pleasant, especially during the warmest par of the day. These flowers come in a variety of colors such as white, purple, pink, and red. These bushes have a high tolerance to alkaline soil and air pollution, as well as being pet-free with the exception of the spider might seen during stress or drought. The Butterfly Bush prefers warm sun and well-drained soil. In the spring, a light fertilizer is suggested with deep watering in the summer months. Some of the easier varieties to grow include B. globosa, B. colvtlei, B. alternifolia, and B. asiatica, and to encourage a second blooming, you can prune the Butterfly Bush immediately after the first blossoming is complete. Lilac Flowering Bushes The Lilac Bush is a favorite because of the pleasant aroma and magnificent lilac-colored blooms. With proper care, a Lilac Bush can live hundreds of yeas. In addition to more than 1,000 varieties of Lilacs, they also come in a variety of colors, the most common being lilac, purple, pink, and white. The size of the Lilac bush also varies from four to eight feet with some extending upwards to 30 feet. The blooms appear in the spring but only last a short time. To enhance the appearance of your property while enjoying the blooms and aroma of the Lilac, we recommend you grow early, mid, and late varieties. Although the blooms will die off in about four to six weeks, you are left with a green shrub that is beautiful in its own right. It is important to keep your Lilac flowering bush neatly pruned and trimmed annually for both appearance and health. Allow the bush to remain bushy but not so dense that inner leaves do not receive sunlight or air circulation. Although Lilac Bushes are relatively hardy, they do have an occasional insect problem such as borers, ants, or aphids. The best solution is an organic insecticidal soap. The more common problem with the Lilac Bush is moles and mice that love to chew on the bark of the stems. For this, you can set a trip to avoid contaminating soil near the bush. Finally, powdery mildew is a common problem. For this, use an organic fungicide two to three times, one week apart as soon as the problem is identified. Azaleas Known as Royalty of the Garden, Azaleas come in thousands of varieties, each beautiful. Classified as a species or hybrid, Azaleas are also a very popular type of flowering bush. You will discover a wide selection of colors that include red, pink, orange, purple, white, and yellow, depending on the type of Azalea you purchase. What makes the Azalea so unique is the bloom, which varies dramatically on the different varieties, some one-half inch, some five inches. The number of petals also depends on the type of Azalea. Single flowers typically have five petals although on rare occasion, you might see six. Hose-in-hose flowers can have up to 12 petals while a double hose-in-hose may have 30 or more. Additionally, Azaleas boast different shaped petals, again, depending on variety. The height of this bush ranges from just under one foot to four feet although there are varieties that grow well over 15 feet tall. Azaleas generally bloom in the spring while some will bloom as late as September but only lasting one to two weeks. Most Azaleas do best with a high degree of shade, preferring slightly acid soil. You also want to keep moisture around the base of the bush, which can be done by using pine bark, wood chips, or pine needles. The most important aspect of growing Azaleas is good drainage. The best solution is to plant the bush so the root ball is exposed above ground by a few inches with the mulching pushed up around it for protection. He balance is that Azaleas also love moist soil at the roots. As you can see, flowering bushes are an exciting way to enhance your home and property. Other excellent choices you might consider include: Flowering Quince Produces rose-like flowers with a magnificent scarlet bloom in the springtime. Deutzia Easy to grow, this flowering bush produces small flowers in the spring, which are usually white. Dwarf Buckeye Blossoming in the summer with 12-inch spikes. Witch Hazel This flowering bush can grow up to 20 feet, producing yellow, spidery flowers. Forsythia Wonderful for lining walls, this bush boasts drooping sprays of yellow flowers. Hibiscus Blooming in mid-summer, these flowers are exotic, large, and a purple, rose/pine, or white color. Hydrangea This showy bush has magnificent large blossoms in the summer with big blue globe-shaped clusters. Honeysuckle With a sweet aroma, the Honeysuckle is a climbing type of bush that is truly gorgeous. Snowball Perfect for hedging, high foundations, and screening because of its mature height of 10 to 12 feet, this bush produces white, snowball-shaped flowers with crimson colored foliage in the fall. Remembering - Say A Little Prayer
by kimberli kendrick - Monday, 10 March 2008, 05:17 AM
Anyone in the world
By Avis Ward "The Light of 9/11" was written on September 5, 2006. I feel compelled to write something today on the fifth anniversary of that horrible day. I did not want to look at the devastation but my heart would not allow me to pull away from the television. I remember the empty hollow feeling and tried to imagine what the people in those buildings (rescue workers, too) endured. And what those on the airplanes must have endured, as well. In fact, I could not imagine. Doing so was unbearable and I wasn't even close to having the experience they had. I thought about the families and friends of everyone involved and the only thing I knew I could do, immediately, was to pray. I was filled with so much anger against hate and evil. For the first time, I believe I understood what Christ must feel when He witnesses sin. I am in no way comparing myself to Christ but only to the pain He must feel when we grieve the Holy Spirit. The following is an excerpt taken from another article I wrote. As I wrote this article, I thought of 9/11. This article, Hurricane Katrina Enduring the Pain, was written on August 31, 2006. In it I wrote: "My fervent prayer is that others will not lose faith in God. I pray they will turn to Him if they have not come to know Him. I pray for their souls and strength of mind and body. I pray faith in Him will keep them in perfect peace in the midst of this trial. I pray others will allow His Love to sustain them that they might fight to survive and not give up on Him. I pray those who know and love Him will grow deeper in their faith."When we are at a loss for words to describe our emotions. When the pain is so unbearable it causes physical pain. When the tears have stopped falling but we continue to weep. When the mind and body are beyond exhaustion but we are unable to sleep. When we don't understand "why" or "why me?" When bad things happen to good people. When we are burdened down and feeling low. Tell Jesus. Christ is our only hope. We can reach Him through prayer. Our prayers need not be formal, fancy, filled with big words or a certain length. They only need to be sincere. Prayer is just a talk with God. He's waiting to hear from you. He already knows what's in your heart and on your mind. He merely wants you to give reverence to Him. He knows a secret that you may not know. He knows the power of speaking to Him; of speaking words. Our words have power. His Word has more power. Pray the Word, the holy scriptures. Lives can be transformed and made whole again! If today is a difficult day for you, giving your life to Jesus and becoming immersed in His Word will give you a Peace that passes all understanding. He is Jehovah Shalom, the Prince of Peace. May God Bless America and the world, today and always. How to Help A Relationship Develop
by kimberli kendrick - Saturday, 8 March 2008, 01:47 PM
Anyone in the world
By Alisa Chagnon Some men go through three main phases before entering into a serious relationship. The first phase is infatuation, this being the time when the man is enthralled at the idea of finding a woman and is in a state of bliss at the prospect of spending time together. The second phase involves his thought process in which he is deciding whether he is truly ready for a serious relationship. This phase can prove to be most perplexing and misinterpreted if a woman does not understand the complexity of this phase. If a woman can understand phase two, she can then take steps, allowing the relationship to transgress naturally into phase three. Phase three, of course, is a strong, solid and committed relationship. When the thrill of meeting someone new is dwindling and it appears that it is time to take a step in the direction of a more serious relationship, some men panic. Although they may desire a secure, safe and loving relationship, at some point a man can begin to display puzzling behavior.. If a woman is in a relationship and the man is in this phase, it is extremely important to be aware of the warning signs and then learn what can be done to aid in his comfort of accepting a serious, committed relationship. In phase two, a man is weighing his options. He is questioning his ability to hold his end in a relationship, his capability of keeping a woman happy, and his desire or lack thereof for a committed relationship. A man requires some space while he is deciding and if not given this, he can easily be scared off. If a woman is yearning to move forward, it is important to take measures so the man does not feel suffocated. A man will appear to be backing off a bit and a woman can misinterpret this incorrectly, causing more problems. The main sign that a man is in this phase is rather clear. He is keeping more distance in the relationship. He may call you several hours late. He may not be at his home when he said he would be. He may be vague when questioned. Arguments may result as a woman is feeling rejected and the man is feeling pressured.. The most common mistake that a woman may make is asking a man too many questions. When a man appears to be backing away, if he does not talk as much as before and does not want to spend as much time together, a woman will begin to question him. The majority of women assume that he has become uninterested or that he is perhaps seeing another woman. The woman will then begin to question the mans every move. When persistently questioned, a man may take a defensive position. While it is understood that a woman has a natural curiosity to know what her partner is doing, if she barrages him with questions, it does nothing to remedy the situation. The man will feel there are too many demands on him and it will in turn increase his fear of commitment. Take for example; if the man does not arrive immediately home from work, he is perhaps one or two hours late. The woman will begin to ask questions, such as , Where were you?, Why didnt you call me?, and What exactly were you doing? While in his state of needing space, the man will inevitably begin to resent the questioning and may not answer honestly. He will feel that the woman is overbearing and overpowering him with a barrage of questions. When inundated with questions, the man may then keep adding on false statements in a way to deflect his feeling that the woman is controlling. In many cases, this will lead to an argument. The man is upset that he of being questioned; the woman is upset that the man is not answering as she wishes. This can be avoided, if a woman realizes that if she asks a man a question that he does not wish to answer, asking again will not produce any satisfactory results. If a man chooses to keep some space, no amount of questioning will force him to answer as a woman desires. If a woman requests the man to have a perfectly logical and satisfactory answer, she may question him repeatedly attempting to make the man give what she perceives as the correct answer. He never will. If he is feeling pressured, and wishes to hide some of his activities, he will do it. A woman should realize that she cannot change a man and his decision to enter into a serious relationship is one he must make on his own. A woman should not be inquisitive about a mans every move. If the woman uses sound judgment and only asks important, relevant questions, she can help defuse the mans feeling of pressure. Once the man feels he has freedom, he will feel free to choose to enter into a relationship. A man will most probably not enter into a relationship with a woman that he perceives will be continuously questioning his every move and appearing to force a relationship. It is not suggested that a woman ought to remain in a situation in which she is receiving mistreatment. A man should show caring, kindness and compassion. If the man is displaying quality signs of an excellent companion and the woman simply gives him some freedom, the result may be a fantastic committed relationship. Pubic Hair Shaving

By Paul Ghossain Pubic hair shaving is done for many reasons. If you are a woman, it is done because you might want to feel sexier for yourself and for your partner. Pubic hair shaving might also be done for practical reasons. This holds true especially if you don't want any embarrassing moments when you have your bikini on! Lets not count men out. These days more and more men have begun shaving their pubic hairs too. Maybe they want to make their penis look larger and more attractive. Some do it because they feel that it is only fair to return a clean cut penis for their partners to enjoy, just like their partners have been doing it all this time for them. What ever the reasons may be, whether you are a woman or a man, one thing is clear, pubic hair shaving has certainly become the norm! Like anything in life, shaving pubic hairs has it's pros and cons too. Don't let the cons scare you. When precautions are taken, alot of the negative effects of shaving your pubic hairs can be avoided. Pros of shaving your haven: Everything down there feels so much more sensitive, in a nice way. It is much easier to keep your playground clean and fresh! Sweaty and musky ordors are kept to a minimal. Can be quite entising for your partner. Cons of shaving your haven: If you cut yourself it could get pretty bloody. Yuk, not nice. Painful too! When it grows back, it feels thicker. Don't worry, your pubic hairs will go back to normal again oncethey reach theiroriginal size. Shaving your pubic hairs the wrong way can lead to ingrown hairs. Believe me, you don't want this to happen. Can be quite painful. Men, if you have shaved around your penis and on your penis, the stubble can hurt your partner when you are having intercourse. Rub your hands on your face stubble and see what I mean. I think that what makes a difference between a good shave and a bad shave lies in technique and the tools of the trade. Take the time to first do a little reading on the subject before you get trigger happy with your shaver.
